偉同（趙文瑄）是事業有成的男同志，與男友賽門（Mitchell Lichtenstein）在美國過著幸福的同居日子，煩惱來自要用各種招數應對遠在臺北的父（郎雄）母（歸亞蕾）的一次次逼婚。偉同被逼以“乖乖仔”形象修書一封聲稱會在美國結婚，沒料父母想親眼見證。無奈，他只得拉上來自上海的不得志的女藝術家葳葳（金素梅）“假婚”，想逃過一劫。 父母對葳葳相當滿意，卻對偉同的草率態度不滿，為讓父母滿意盡快返回臺北，偉同猶如“拼命三郎”使出了渾身解數。但人算不如天算，不斷的波折使得父母的返臺日期一次次推遲，令他和賽門的感情亮起“紅燈”，而葳葳又意外懷上了他的孩子。似乎，偉同在強大的父母（傳統）面前，只能選擇去做一個 “表面正常”的男人。
